Workforce management software comparison: a 12-point table
The fairest way to compare two products is to ask both the same questions. This table gives you those questions; we wrote our own answer next to each — only what can be verified.
Why does this table name no competitors?
Every sentence we wrote about another company’s product would require us to know that product’s current version — and we do not. A wrong or outdated comparison misleads the reader; Article 55 of the Turkish Commercial Code also makes comparative advertising conditional on not being misleading.
So the table is a checklist, not a ranking: each row gives why the criterion matters, what our product does on it and the question to ask every vendor you speak to. Write the answers side by side; let the data decide.
Workforce management software comparison table
| Criterion | Why it matters | At MedyAjans | Ask the vendor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hardware | Terminal and card costs often exceed the software. | Not needed: phone, QR and a shared tablet are enough. | Is hardware mandatory, and what does each device cost? |
| Biometric data | KVKK 2026/921: biometric data cannot be processed for time tracking even with consent. | Not used; QR, location, photo and PIN. | Are fingerprints or face data processed? |
| Field staff | A card terminal is useless for staff who never sit at a desk. | Location-verified clock-in, field permission, offline records. | How is a clock-in taken with no connection? |
| Location data | Location is personal data; collection must be proportionate. | Only while a shift is open; retention is a company setting. | Is location collected outside working time, and for how long is it kept? |
| Shift rules | An unlawful roster is where disputes start. | Definitions outside art. 63 and 68 are not saved; art. 69 warns. | Are statutory limits checked while planning? |
| Overtime | Favouritism and exceeding 270 hours are the most common disputes. | Request–approval, two stages, approval stops at the 270-hour limit. | Is the 270-hour annual limit enforced by the system? |
| Timesheet lock | A figure that changes after payroll destroys trust. | An approved month is locked. | Can an approved month be changed later, and does it leave a trace? |
| Payroll | “Payroll module” can mean two different things. | Official payroll stays with the accountant; the system provides a payroll input package. | Is official payroll produced, or is data prepared? |
| Access control | Without it, all HR data is visible to everyone. | Six ready roles; a department lead sees only their own team. | Can a manager see only their own team? |
| Data export | You cannot leave data you cannot export. | CSV, PDF and Excel. | Can I export all my data today? (Try it.) |
| Pricing model | Where the cost goes as the team grows. | Per person, tiered; from ₺59, published table. | What drives the price up, and what is the annual increase tied to? |
| Trial | A rule not tested with real data breaks in the field. | 30 days with your own staff; free onboarding. | Is the trial with our own data, and is set-up charged? |
The MedyAjans column describes the product’s behaviour today; if the product changes, this table is updated. Full pricing is on the product page.
How to use the table
- Get answers in writing. A verbal answer in a meeting does not make it into the contract.
- Ask to be shown. See every “yes” on a demo screen; if possible, try it on your own phone.
- Weight the rows. With no field staff the field row matters little; with shifts the shift row matters a lot.
- Run one month in parallel. During the trial, also produce the timesheet your old way and compare.
Questions about the comparison
Why don’t you compare directly with a named product?
We cannot verify another product’s current version; an unverifiable comparison may mislead readers and may count as unfair competition under Article 55 of the Turkish Commercial Code. Instead we give you questions you can ask of any product, and we wrote our own answers into the same table.
Which criterion matters most?
It depends on your business. For a company with field crews, location-verified clock-in and offline records; for a shift-based business, checking statutory limits while planning; for every company, data export — because you cannot leave a system you cannot export from.
Does this table claim your product does everything?
No. It states only the behaviour we can verify today. For example, the system does not produce official payroll — your accountant’s program does — and connecting existing card devices is not part of standard onboarding.
Is the trial long enough to compare?
30 days covers one timesheet period, which is enough to test the rules with real data. You do not need to switch off your current method during the trial; put the two results side by side.
